Great China Restaurant: Authentic Chinese Cuisine in Orem, UT

My family loves the Great China Restaurant. The lunch buffet is our favorite. They have many yummy things to eat. Some of our favorites are the ham fried rice, broccoli beef, rice noodles, sweet and sour soup, spicy black bean stir fry, and vegetarian spring rolls. My daughter with celiac disease has options for the buffet and also enjoys the food. Each time we are in Orem, we try to stop at the Great China for lunch.

Food is very good here. Service can be lacking, especially at a busy takeout hour. Dining in might be the better option because you can sit and they typically bring you your food within 10 mins.

We've been doing pick up at this place for over 6 years now. We've moved 3 times and we refuse to look at more local Chinese restaurants because this is only place worth visiting. We absolutely love the staff (even though we're pick up only customers). We usually order enough for a couple of dinners because everything is absolutely delicious. We've never had a bad experience here.

Delicious food at an affordable price. This is the closest to authentic I've seen in Utah county so far and I will definitely be visiting again. I had the pan fried noodle, and the texture was immaculate

This is THEE HOLY GRAIL for chicken lo mein. I don't live in Utah anymore, but when I visit, I go here multiple days in a row. It's so wonderful. & their staff are just so real. The orange chicken actually tastes fresh and delicious. Such a high quality place. I literally pray that they will never go out of business or change their recipes. This restaurant is making the world a better place.

Great Chinese food and at a good price point as well. I haven’t tried their buffet but it’s been recommended to me and I’ve tried a couple of their take out options, my favorite being the house special fried rice. They get a good crowd for lunch but it’s large enough that you’d likely still find space and the parking lot is large enough that you’ll always find a spot. My only complaint would be that the link to the menu is out of date and I had to google the updated link. I also posted some pictures of their menu for convenience.

14 July 2023 - 4 Stars First time here. The taste of the food, both the menu items and the all you can eat buffet items, is your typical American version on Chinese food. Nothing bad but nothing to get excited about. The service was wonderful. We had 4 VERY YOUNG children and an 87 yearold (with an oxygen tank & walker) great-grandfather with us today. The staff was extremely helpful as we managed the various needs and abilities of all 10 people in our group. Would return if in the area.

First time eating here. Got take out. The menus online are no longer correct - I took pictures of the current menu (May 2025). This is a typical Chinese restaurant that also has a lunch buffet at a super reasonable price ($11.95). We got the sweet and sour chicken and the beef Lo Mein. The sweet and sour sauce was basic and missing excitement, but it definitely checks all the boxes for sweet and sour. The Lo Mein was actually really good and probably why I chose 4 stars over 3 for this meal. The only downside was that without the sauce, the beef seemed unseasoned prior to the cook. Overall, if you’re in the area and in the mood for Chinese, this would be worth the try!
